The National Program for the Advancement of Women (PAM) responds to the essence of the Revolution, assured the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, while participating, yesterday, in the commission on Attention to Youth, Children and Equal Rights for Women, as part of the work prior to the Third Ordinary Period of Sessions of the Parliament in its 10th Legislature.
"As a country we can say that the issue of women has always had an advanced approach, therefore, this program cannot be separated from that essence, nor from those Cuban pedagogues of the 19th century, and of course, in the most recent moments, from Raúl's thinking," the Head of State mentioned.
In the current revolutionary hour, he added, there is progress, but there is still much to be done, "and when we have solved a group of problems, there will be others that life itself generates "
Díaz-Canel ratified that, from the base, and every time a public policy is to be conceived and approved, a look at women and all persons or families who may be in a situation of vulnerability has been gained, so that the particular characteristics of these groups are not left untreated.
One of the contributions of the MAP to the country, in the methodological dimension - according to the President - has to do with the fact that we are learning, perfecting the work with public policies.
"A work session has been dedicated today to the Comprehensive Policy for Children, Adolescents and Youth, and another one to work on the Program. This is a way of completing actions and also integrating all the actors to address issues or problems of society, from popular participation and control," he emphasized.
