The member of the Political Bureau of the Party, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and the Council of State, held yesterday a fraternal and fruitful exchange with Roman Alexandrovich Golovchenko, prime minister of the Republic of Belarus, who is making an official visit to Cuba.
Lazo Hernández conveyed a cordial greeting to the head of the Council of the Republic of the Parliament of the European country, Natalia Kachanova, and highlighted the historic ties of friendship existing between the two peoples, and ratified the will to continue developing them in all areas of mutual interest, especially in inter-parliamentary matters.

He thanked the Belarusian government for its stance against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the U.S. government against Cuba, and against the unjust inclusion of the island in the arbitrary list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism.
He recalled his visit to Minsk in December 2022, when he held an intense work program to consolidate ties between the legislative bodies of both nations, which allowed the signing of an Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agreement in October 2023.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus expressed his gratitude for the hospitality since his arrival in the largest of the Antilles, and underscored the importance of his first high-level meeting in Havana with authorities of the ANPP, since in both countries power belongs to the people, and parliaments are a bridge for dialogue between society and the Government.
