
The analysis of the implementation of the Government Program to correct distortions and boost the economy focused the agenda, yesterday, of the ordinary session of the Council of State, headed by the president of this body, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and with the participation of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau.
One month after the presentation of its update and the debate on this issue in the Fourth Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its 10th Legislature; Marrero Cruz explained that the work carried out allows being in better conditions to advance in the implementation and control of the Government Program at all levels of leadership.
He insisted on the relevance of advancing in the measures aimed at macroeconomic stabilization, the increase and diversification of foreign currency earnings and the strengthening of national production, with an emphasis on food production.
Esteban Lazo stressed that this Government Program has been consolidated as a tool for the daily work on the country's priorities, in the midst of a challenging scenario characterized by the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government. It is key to continue advancing, with collective thinking and action, with the integration of all the actors and the decisive participation of the people, in its implementation and control, he added.
The working system of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State for 2025, which seeks to increase the link with the population and municipalities, was also reported.
In this regard, Díaz-Canel insisted on the importance of defending unity, participation and popular control in each of the processes; strengthening the work of the people's council, delegates, municipal assemblies and administration councils, and consolidating the permanent link with the grassroots.
