Seven new ambassadors presented their credentials before the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. In a solemn audience, in the Hall of the Proceres of the Palace of the Revolution, the heads of legations of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Korea, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nepal, the Republic of Fiji, and the Republic of Nauru, expressed the honor of being in Cuba.

Vitaly Petrovich Borchuk, from Belarus, said that it was a great responsibility for him to represent his nation in a Latin American region and in Cuba. “It is a pleasure to receive him, knowing that we are receiving a friend of Cuba,” said Díaz-Canel.

In perfect Spanish, as praised by the Head of State, Lee Ho-yul handed over his documents on behalf of the Republic of Korea. He said he was an ambassador “of the good wishes of his people, in the interest of strengthening the ties between both nations”.

“We oppose the blockade,” Zdenek Kubánek emphatically expressed, on behalf of the Czech Republic, and spoke of the will to deepen and develop bilateral relations.

In front of the representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Bogdanic, the President recalled, with great satisfaction, the visit paid to the Island in 2023 by the President of that nation, Željka Cvijanovic. “It was a moment to revive bilateral relations and take them to a higher plane,” he appreciated.

Bharat Raj Paudyal entered the Proceres Hall on behalf of Nepal, at which time Díaz-Canel told him that next March 19 will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and that Asian nation. “Nepal is honored to be by Cuba's side,” the Ambassador assured.

When the representative of the Republic of Fiji arrived at the protocol hall Filipo Tarakinikini, the president referred to the closeness, from the sentimental point of view, that distinguishes the relationship between Cuba and that country in Oceania; and ratified the will of the largest of the Antilles to continue strengthening that link.

“Our relations are historic, very strong, and very respectful,” the Head of State told the ambassador of the Republic of Nauru. She stressed that her country will continue to support Cuba in the United Nations space, and shared her certainty that the Caribbean island will continue to support its people, in the face of multiple challenges.

To all the nations represented, Díaz-Canel expressed Cuba's gratitude for their firm support, in the international arena, to its struggle against the imperialist blockade, according to the website of the Presidency.
