OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

The process of early release of the 553 people punished for various crimes in Cuba and benefited in the spirit of the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025, concluded. This was informed by Maricela Sosa Ravelo, vice-president of the People's Supreme Court.
In an interview granted to Cuban Television, Sosa Ravelo said that 378 requests for early release were presented to the courts in January and 175 in February, and the process was recently successfully completed.
She pointed out that each one of the beneficiaries was notified of the release resolutions, and these established the date on which they were to appear before the judge in charge of the execution of their residence, for their subsequent follow-up and control.
She explained that it is the duty of the enforcement judge, in this appearance, to inform them of the rights, projections and restrictions imposed by compliance with the sanction.
In addition, they will be informed that they must continue to comply with the accessory sanctions that have been imposed on them, and that they must maintain their compliance during this probation period, which concludes with the expiration date of the sanction imposed by the court.
This early release is understood as a benefit at a time when the sanctioned person has not yet finished serving his sentence. Under this logic, it is defined, for each one, which will be the obligations once they are released, as detailed in the television report.
