Faced with a complex scenario, in which the enemy expects the people to surrender, it is impossible to speak of unity if the role of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) is not taken into account, said Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, at the 4th Plenary Session of the National Directorate of the largest mass organization in the country.
Speaking in the debate, which highlighted the work of the CDRs and how much remains to be done in times when unity is a priority, he stressed that the political-ideological work is carried out correctly in the places where things are done well, and for that the organization has a notorious presence.
In this regard, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, national coordinator of the CDRs, called on the meeting - headed by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, head of the Department of Attention to the Union of Young Communists and mass organizations of the Party - to concretize strategies to resolve pending issues in the organization, and to show the advances in future meetings.
According to ACN, the National Coordinator referred to the effectiveness of the neighborhood-debates in the different localities of the country, as a mechanism for the participation of the population.
Miriam Rech, coordinator of the capital municipality of Playa, called to intensify the relationship with young people, as a fundamental factor for the growth of the CDR work.
In this regard, the coordinator of the municipality of Santiago de Cuba, Yulia Cesé, stressed that the territory has almost completed its staff of cadres, and emphasized that the attention to youth detachments has boosted that, in a short time, there are encouraging figures and the vacancies are expected to be filled this year.
In the plenary session, several provinces were recognized for their work in the first quarter of the year: Ciego de Ávila was the vanguard territory, while Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo were outstanding.
The 4th Plenary Session of the National Directorate of the CDRs ratified the commitment of the CDR members with the Homeland.
