The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived yesterday at the 16th Health for All Trade Fair, within the framework of the 5th International Convention Cuba Health 2025, to tour the exhibition and exchange with the attending businessmen.
Accompanied by José Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban Minister of Public Health, the President toured the stands of domestic and foreign companies present at the Fair, where he learned about the products exhibited there and thanked many of them for their commitment to the nation's Health System.
At the closing ceremony of the Health for All Fair, also held during the day, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, thanked the foreign and national businessmen, as well as the official entities, international organizations and their representatives, for their active presence in this important event, which has been a determining factor in the results after four days of intense work.
"The slander, sanctions, threats, blackmail and imperial pressures against anyone who tries or decides to do business, promote investment or simply develop cooperation with Cuba, did not prevent 263 companies, among them 141 foreign ones from 37 countries, from being present with the purpose of initiating contacts or reaching agreements with Cuban entities in the field of Health," he meant.
Pérez-Oliva stressed that the vision of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the architect of the Cuban Health System, is present today more than ever in the capacity of this prestigious event to summon personalities, top executives and businesspeople from all latitudes.
The Health for All 2025 Trade Fair, he said, allowed the companies MediCuba S.A., Servicios Médicos Cubanos and the entities of the BioCubaFarma Business Group, among others, to hold more than 300 contacts and commercial negotiations with foreign companies and institutions, with the purpose of acquiring and providing technologies, supplies, raw materials, medicines and various services in the field of health.
At the same time, strategic alliances were sealed for the development of knowledge and new technologies, all based on a strong social commitment to public health, said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
He said that more than 50 contracts were signed and innovative products such as rapid test kits, diagnostic systems, technological packages and natural products, among others, were presented.
He highlighted the large participation of companies from the People's Republic of China, as guest of honor, with more than 20 companies.
About the International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair, in its second edition, he commented that it was a propitious occasion to continue expanding and diversifying health tourism services in Cuba, with great potential still to be developed.
"The intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on our country by the U.S. government for more than 60 years has had a significant effect on the economy and the entire Cuban population, and has a particular impact on the health system, as it prevents us from having access to medicines, supplies and technologies whose only purpose is to save lives," he denounced.
However, he affirmed that "our government makes enormous efforts to guarantee health services to the entire population, while contributing with dozens of countries, and the Health for All Fair directly contributes to this noble purpose."
