His presence at this International Tourism Fair is a sign "of the strengthening and extension of our deep and historic relations, based on the consensus we have reached with President Xi Jinping," said the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to the Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, Rao Quan, who heads the delegation of the Asian giant to FitCuba-2025, guest of honor.
In the exchange, which was also attended by the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, and the Cuban Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, Deputy Minister Rao Quan told the President that his visit to Cuba, at the head of the Chinese delegation, aims, precisely, to contribute to the implementation of the consensus between the two Heads of State.
President Xi Jinping, assured the official of the sister nation, "highly values the collaboration between the People's Republic of China and Cuba, and personally supports the aid projects".
"This Fair, dedicated to our country - the Vice Minister pointed out - is a demonstration of the special friendship between our countries; and our delegation is here to deepen cooperation in the sector".
Díaz-Canel highlighted the ties between both nations, an expression -he said- of the policy of shared future, taking into account the conceptual elements developed by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of that nation.
"And sharing the culture and idiosyncrasy of our peoples is part of that shared future," Díaz-Canel reflected, and highlighted the Fair Gala, held on Wednesday night, in which there were cultural representations of China and Cuba. He was able to appreciate in it, he said, the greatness of Chinese culture, and then, at the end, the artists joining and embracing each other was very symbolic.
The president conveyed to the Chinese authorities, through the Vice Minister, his gratitude for all the support that the Greater of the Antilles has received at the present time. It is an expression -he explained- of the sensitivity and understanding of the Government and the Communist Party of China regarding the situation we are going through.
Díaz-Canel emphasized the importance of the collaboration that the country is receiving in three areas: food production, the recovery of the National Electric System, and cybersecurity and telecommunications; and now, he added, tourism is added, with the participation of China as Guest of Honor in this Fair.
He stressed that the delegation he heads to FitCuba-2025 will contribute to consolidate the areas of collaboration already agreed, and advance in projects that are being proposed, while allowing China to disseminate its traditions, culture and potential in tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Asian country thanked the Cuban President for the exchange, and said he was very moved.
Our Ministry -he explained- highly values the consensus reached between you and President Xi Jinping, and sees this visit of ours, in connection with the Fair, as an opportunity to put into practice, to implement that consensus, to deepen cooperation, he reiterated.
