SEGUNDO FRENTE, Santiago de Cuba.-The people of Mayarí Arriba paid tribute to Vilma Espín Guillois, the Heroine of the Mountain and the City, who, according to Fidel, "devoted her whole life to fight for women", at the Mausoleum of the Second Eastern Front Frank País García, a historic place that has kept her ashes for 18 years.

A bouquet of flowers sent by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz -his partner in struggle and life-, as well as a wreath on behalf of the Cuban people, were placed by students of the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School of Santiago de Cuba, in the political act and military ceremony presided over by the member of the Political Bureau and general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC, for its Spanish acronym), Teresa Amarelle Boué, and by the Firrst Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party, Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, as well as by political and governmental authorities and the Eastern Army.

As a sign of fidelity to the legacy of the eternal President of FMC, leaders of the organization in the untamed province signed the Code of Ethics; afterwards, Amarelle Boué exchanged with 65 young people of the territory, an ideal space for revolutionary reaffirmation and debate on the improvement of the work of the organization -which will be 65 years old next August-, and the continuity of this work that guaranteed equal rights and the empowerment of women.
