Palestine hurts. And Cuba—certain that shared suffering among brothers and sisters touches us all—stands with it in its call for peace. There are millions of men, women, elderly people, and children for whom there is no greater clarity than that of detonating bombs. Zionism has laid its murderous hand on Gaza, and the world cannot remain silent in the face of such barbarity.
The voice of the island, always accompanying justice and defending life, will not be contaminated by those who have decided to side with those who allow themselves to be blinded by power.
When it comes to doing good, stopping bloodshed, and restoring dignity, all silence is complicity. With that certainty, thousands of Cubans have gathered yesterday at the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribune in Havana to demand, once again, an end to this horrific crime that cuts short lives and leaves no room for hope.
Meanwhile, acts of solidarity are taking place throughout the rest of the country, with the firm conviction that there will be no justice in this region until people stop dying at the hands of the visceral hatred of ambition.
