Venezuela, the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, the sister nation of South America that is currently targeted by some 1,200 US missiles, accompanied by a vast military deployment, cannot and will not feel alone, as Cuba embraces it in the midst of this serious military escalation, which seeks to bring it to its knees.
At a time when the empire and its misguided leader are approving covert CIA operations against Venezuela, we express our solidarity with that brotherly people and, especially, with its president, Nicolás Maduro, said Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, in X.
"Today, Cuba is more aware than ever of José Martí's words: 'Give me Venezuela to serve, she has a son in me,' and Fidel's: 'For Venezuela, we must give our all.'"
This is also how the people of the largest of the Antilles feel, who will wake up this morning in solidarity with that country, in front of the equestrian statue of Simón Bolívar, knowing that, as El Libertador said, "the United States seems destined by Providence to plague America with misery in the name of freedom."
