The debate at the plenary session of the Third Plenary Meeting of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) focused on the role that Cuban youth should play in the current situation facing the country and the contributions that young people can make to implement the Government Program.

At the meeting, Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of Organization of the Party's Central Committee, reiterated the Party's confidence in young people and reaffirmed that it is mainly young people who must make contributions to consolidate this project for the country, which continues to be perfected with the participation of all Cubans.

He said that among the main missions are the economic battle, unity, and the struggle for peace; the latter, he denounced, is threatened in the region, essentially against Venezuela, a country to which we must give our unconditional support, recalling the words of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro: "For Venezuela, we will have to give everything."

He emphasized that, in the face of a "war economy," it is essential to prioritize everything that generates foreign exchange income in order to solve critical problems such as those currently facing the National Electric System and the fuel shortage.

He acknowledged the serious problems in the national production of foods such as rice, beans, and sugar, and advocated for revitalizing the sugarcane sector. He called for boosting domestic production to replace imports and guarantee the basic food basket.
