The Cuban President described the act as an "execrable act" that "constitutes an unscrupulous violation of all norms of International Law and human dignity." He added that "in Cuba he will be remembered as an outstanding statesman and leader of his people, who contributed to the development of friendly relations between Cuba and Iran."
