How does a man live on even after he is gone? How does he remain? How does he exist?
These might be the questions of someone who didn't know him, or of someone who, because of the hatred and blindness he inspires, refused to do so. But there is a way in which a man becomes eternal, in which a century of existence is only a brief time compared to the eternity that accompanies him.
It is something uncommon, but when it happens, the feeling that sustains this survival is so strong that there is no known force capable of tearing it from people's hearts. Because that's where it comes from, from the heart, that place where exceptional beings are sown, those who live more for others than for themselves, those who make the pain of others their own, those who don't ask for justice, but fight for it until their last breath, those who always believe in triumph, not in luck, but in the value of infinite sacrifice to achieve it.
When a people has such a son, such a brother, such a father, it utterly refuses to let him fade into the eternal mists of time, and transforms him into sun, into sky, and grants him the privilege of enduring because he can, because he wants to, and no one can deny him that right.

Whoever wins the heart of a people does so once and for all, because noble and courageous peoples are also grateful, sincere, reciprocal, and incapable of forgetting.
Therefore, if anyone still asks these questions (How does a man live even after he is gone? How does he endure? How does he exist?) we can answer, from the left side of our hearts and minds, that this is no ordinary man, that the one who endures and traverses time with his steps is Fidel Castro Ruz, and that the mere mention of his name in any corner of this planet embodies much of the highest, most transparent, and just aspects of the human condition.
