The 24th edition of the International Book Fair of Havana will be officially inaugurated this afternoon, in the Sala Nicolás Guillén at the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress.

Dedicated to India as Guest of Honor and the writers Olga Portuondo Zúñiga and Leonardo Acosta, the great Cuban literary event opens to the public from tomorrow February 13th.

The Fair will offer more than 850 new publications to readers and feature numerous others, at the main venue in the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, as well as other smaller venues across the city. A total of 27 titles on India from different publishers will be also feature.

Billed as the most important and popular event of Cuban publishing since its beginnings in 1982, the Fair has become a benchmark for the exhibition, marketing and promotion of the best Cuban, Latin American and world literature. The capital will host the event until the 22nd of this month, after which it will travel across the rest of the island, through to April.
