"I am only a creator who makes my work available to the public," said the vocalist and director of the Karamba group and cultural promoter Jorge Luis Robaina, to the press gathered at the Café Cantante, of the National Theater, during the presentation of his most recent record Desde adentro, by produced by the Company of Musical Recordings (EGREM in Spanish).
Consisting of 11 songs, most of them unreleased, it covers diverse musical genres, marked by the sound that has characterized the group, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The volume features the collaboration of the duo Buena Fe, in the song Pobres con antojos, and the singer, composer, producer and instrumentalist Ernesto Blanco, who appears as guitarist in several songs. Musically, the backing of Karamba's own musicians and Lendy Fernández stands out.
Desde adentro is a very intimate album, according to its author, a jumble of muses and emotions, a warp of vital outpourings that met with the acoustics of his guitar in one of the most terrible, confusing and irreversible moments of humanity and contemporary life: during the COVID. Through them, he said, he brought joy to the lives of his people, saved his hope, that of his sick and helped him to bear the losses. It is the volume he always wanted to have at home, which until now he did not have, to always come back to it. It is also an album, as musicologist Heidi Gonzalez said, that expresses a great feeling of love, of affection, full of lyrical and extremely beautiful songs.
All Cuba will be able to enjoy live the songs in Desde adentro, during the nationa tour it will held wih Buena Fe, who is also presenting their newest album Morada, from March 17 to April 15, organized by the Youth Ommunits League (UJC in Spanish). They will be accompanied by the Duo Iris, and the children's project La fiesta de la gata Mini, by Annie Garcés.
