The world is warm to Cuban culture. Many are the scenarios in which it shows its splendor. So it has been and so it will continue to be. The light of the Island carries in itself the generosity of its people, the precepts of independence and its humanism.
In its lands, art is given, not only by the nature of its inhabitants, who are fascinated by music, dance, theater, painting, but also because, in order for creation to nourish the spirit, the Revolutionary Government, from the very triumph, created conditions to cultivate, in everyone, the beauty that nests in art.
The prestigious company of the National Ballet of Cuba returned from Spain after performing in 14 of its cities. The French audience is currently enjoying the work of Cuban painter Francisco Rivero, gathered in the exhibition The Joy of Existing; the Sixth International Forum of Cuban Culture Timbalaye concluded in Rome.
The Cuban Music Engine, Los Van Van, is traveling around the United States, spreading its music to large audiences. Orquesta Aragón will reach the Dominican Republic on its Icono Tour, which has been going on since April and will take them to Colombia.
In Quito, the echoes of Alexander Abreu and Havana D' Primera performance last weekend at the Pichincha Libertaria Festival can still be heard; and in Argentina, director and documentary filmmaker Santiago Alvarez was honored.
One of Cuba's cultural references, popular duo Buena Fe, internationally known and acclaimed throughout the island, has been touring Spain since mid-May. The incidents with which fascism and hatred tried to overshadow their presence have only strengthened the nobility of their convictions in the group and its followers, defended in their lyrics.
There is no room for evil in good art. Buena Fe is stronger today. It is worth saying that they must be very good to have been the object of infamies coming from such purposes. They sing louder today, wrapped by an overwhelming force: their integrity.
