The host’s advantage in Havana's Ciudad Deportiva was such that they easily won all their fights.

By a vote of 3-0, without losing a single round, Joahnys Argilagos (49 kilograms) Andy Cruz (56kg) and newcomer Kevin Brown (64kg) won their bouts against Zoheir Toudjine, Fahem Hammachi and Ahmed Boudiaf, in that order.

Meanwhile, in a fight expected to be more even, between the Central American and Caribbean Games Veracruz-2014 champion, Arlen López, and Algeria’s Ilyas Abbadi, who competed at the London 2012 Olympic Games, the visitor was defeated via technical knockout in the first round, after being hit in the stomach.

The concluding fight saw more of the same, as the undefeated Erislandy Savón (91kg) beat Bouziane Houna 3-0, although the Algerian landed a good punch in the first round, which caused the Caribbean’s knees to buckle beneath him.

After this victory, the Domadores are safe at the top of Group A, with 27 points, ahead of Russia with 21.
