HAVANA.– President of the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB), Higinio Vélez, and his Caribbean counterpart, Juan Francisco Puello, spoke about Cuba incorporation’s into that organization, as revealed by a FCB tweet.

Both institutions have worked intensely in recent times to ensure that Cuba becomes a full member of the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CPBC), and can enjoy the same rights as the other nations.

Washington’s economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba has prevented the island from joining the organization for years, through the baseball governing body in the United States that supervises the activity of the CPBC.

The talks took place on the occasion of the re-election of Puello to head the CPBC, for which Vélez congratulated him and reiterated Cuba’s intention to continue collaborating on matters of mutual interest.
