Cuban boxers Andy Cruz (63 kilograms), Lazaro Alvarez (60) and Julio Cesar La Cruz (81), appear at the top of the world ranking established by the International Boxing Association (AIBA).
Boxing’s top organization has ranked several other Cubans high, as well, including the experienced Roniel Iglesias (69) and Arlen López (75), both in second place, while Erislandy Savón was placed third in the 91 kg.
Fighters with less time on the national team are also moving up the ladder. Osvel Caballlero (56 kg) and Dainier Peró (+91) are now ranked fifth place in their respective divisions, while Damián Arce (49) is in the seventh spot. Yosbany Veitía (52) was placed tenth, but the Sancti Spiritus boxer’s physical condition is unclear, since he was on disciplinary leave for some time, as a result of difficulties with his weight.
