The Pan American Taekwondo Union has chosen Cuba’s Ivan Fernandez as the new methodologist on its High Performance Committee for the Caribbean region.
Fernandez, current president of the Cuban Taekwondo Federation, has earned the seventh Dan category in this sport.
The appointment “is a source of pride that means commitment, but it is a recognition of the work of a group of valuable colleagues, who I know will support me in continuing to uphold Cuban sports and develop taekwondo in the region," the coach told Jit magazine.
The announcement released by the World Taekwondo Pan America on the selection of Fernandez notes that the Cuban coach has extensive practical and academic experience, which will strengthen the work carried out by the department where he was placed.
