UNITED NATIONS.— The global call will once again be clearly heard, when the twenty-third UN General Assembly vote is held today on the need to lift the blockade imposed by the U.S. on Cuba.

Under the title: The need to put an end to the United States’ economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, the document will be submitted to a vote by more than 190 of the organization’s member states.
The vote is once again expected to favor ending the blockade, as it has on pervious occasions, such as in 2013, when 188 of 193 members voted to end the unjust, genocidal, criminal and immoral policy.
The rejection of the U.S. blockade of Cuba will generate an unusual consensus between southern and northern nations, united in the demand to put an end to the unilateral sanctions imposed on Cuba for more than half a century.
