CARACAS.— Cuba will continue to realize important victories, stated Rogelio Polanco, Cuban ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, at the close of a cultural gala to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. In the National Theatre, before more than 600 Cuban collaborators, Polanco recalled that both Cuba and Venezuela are ending the year with joy and emotion given the return of the three heroes to Cuba, the culmination of a struggle of resistance and solidarity.
He commented that receiving the news in the land of Bolívar and Chávez was the greatest reward given the efforts of both countries to secure their return.
He also highlighted the fraternal ties which unite Cuba and Venezuela, stating that 2015 will begin with the great commitment to continue collaboration with other nations and in particular with Venezuela.
The Cuban ambassador recalled that only a few days ago the Cuba-Venezuela Intergovernmental Mixed Commission took place, an effort which must be continued next year, together with national economic development, the consolidation of the process of the updating of Cuba’s economic model and the implementation of the Guidelines of the Party and Revolution.
“We are certain that with the same spirit with which we have welcomed our five heroes home, we look forward to the anniversary of the Revolution with the whole hearted commitment to continue progressing, realizing new victories of the homeland, socialism and the Latin American revolution,” stated Polanco. Víctor Gaute, head of the Cuban Missions Service Office, reiterated to collaborators the many reasons to feel happy and emphasized their commitment to the work of the Cuban and Venezuelan Revolutions, commenting that “2015 will begin with the spirit of struggle, faith in victory and confidence that we are traveling on the right path.”
He noted the importance of recognizing the daily efforts and work of Cuban collaborator, offering services to poor communities in neighborhoods built by the Revolution or anywhere they are needed. More than 41,000 collaborators serving on international missions in Venezuela will participate in various commemorative activities to celebrate the New Year and 56th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
