In a gesture meant to promote calm and tranquility prior to the arrival of Pope Francis to Ecuador, this coming July 5, President Correa announced, in a message to the country on the evening of June 15, the temporary withdrawal of his government’s proposals to increase inheritance and earnings taxes.
