The 26th Pastors for Peace Caravan was officially presented with the slogan “Now is the time to end the blockade!”
In the presence of more than a hundred friends of Cuba, the event was held at the Baptist church located at number 623 Florida Avenue in Washington.
Gail Walker, co-director of Pastors for Peace, reminded those present of the work of the caravans for over twenty years, and noted that the example of the Cuban people and their resistance for more than half a century has been the main source of inspiration for this initiative.
The activity also served to pay tribute to and continue the work of U.S. Reverend Lucius Walker, founder of this solidarity movement, who died in September 2010.
The Caravan began its journey in Canada, before entering U.S. territory on Sunday.
