Africa and Latin America have the potential to become future leaders in agriculture.

Greater yields and an increase in farming land could turn Africa and Latin America into leaders in agricultural growth over the next 10 years, according to a report by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, cites RT.
In Africa, harvests are expected to increase by an average yearly rate of 2.4%, between 2015-2024, while Latin America and the Caribbean are forecast to grow by 1.8%, according to estimates by international experts.
The report predicts an increase in soy production, especially in Brazil, given the growing global demand for protein and oleaginous seeds, already widely used throughout Latin America.
In July, the Food and Agriculture Organization estimated that altogether the region of Latin America and the Caribbean has the capacity to be self-sufficient and end dependence on food imports.
