During the first hour of debate, speaking in favor of the Cuba’s resolution condemning the U.S. blockade and calling for its elimination were representatives from Iran, speaking for the Non-Aligned Movement; Ecuador, as President pro tempore of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, CELAC; South Africa, in the name of the G-77 + China bloc; Sierra Leona in the name of African states; Kuwait; Jamaica for Caricom, the Caribbean Community and Common Market; Paraguay for Mercosur; Malaysia for ASEAN the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
