OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno announced today, January 21, that First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel will lead Cuba’s delegation to the 4th Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit, set to take place January 27 in Ecuador.

Speaking with the press, Moreno emphasized that Cuba is committed to strengthening the organization, recalling President Raúl Castro’s words last December, when he described CELAC as indispensable to concerted political action and integration in the region.

The 4th Summit will be held in the Union of South American Nations headquarters, 15 kilometers north of Quito, and 22 heads of state from the bloc’s 33 members have already confirmed their attendance.
