OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Caracas, Venezuela.— “We are experiencing a time of threats, attempts at re-colonization in which the people of the continent must have their morals and a strong spirit of resistance at the ready, for which we must look to the example of Fidel,” stated Vice President of Venezuela Aristóbulo Istúriz, on inaugurating a photographic exhibition dedicated to the Cuban leader on his 90th birthday.
”Through his thoughts and actions, Fidel taught us that conscience, values and principals are of the utmost importance, as they sustain the people in times of material scarcity, and the Cuban Revolution with him at the helm has been the greatest example toward which we must look,” noted the official before the exhibition, located on one side of the central Plaza Bolívar.
Istúriz went on to describe Fidel as the human face of dignity and praised his support of Venezuela, “because when we were most alone, we could count on Cuba, on its Comandante in our most difficult moments and the most overwhelming proof is the close friendship which united Chávez and Fidel.”
Rogelio Polanco, Cuban ambassador in the South American nation, thanked the Venezuelan people for their tributes to Fidel which will include the premiere of the documentary Fidel entre nosotros¸ by Villa del Cine, the presentation of the book Fidel y la Revolución Bolivariana and a concert featuring prominent voices from both nations.
