Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, a vice president of the Council of State, began a working visit to the Russian Federation this Monday, May 21. Cabrisas is presiding the Cuban delegation to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, to be held May 24 through 26, in this northern Russian city.
During his stay in the Eurasian nation, the Cuban vice president, who also co-chairs the Cuba-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, will hold meetings with government authorities and executives of companies that maintain ties with Cuba.
Within the framework of the Forum, Cabrisas will also participate in two High Level panels along with other heads of foreign delegations invited to this important event.
The Cuban delegation includes the Minister of Agriculture, Gustavo Rodríguez Rollero; the First Deputy Ministers of Energy and Mines and Transport, Raúl García Barreiro and Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, respectively; the Deputy Minister for Industry, José Gaspar Álvarez Sandoval; MINREX Director General for Bilateral Affairs, Emilio Lozada García, and the Ambassador of Cuba to the Russian Federation, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, among other officials.
