“I bring a message of love from Cuba to Africa,” said Inés María Chapman, a vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, upon arriving in the Kingdom of Lesotho, the second nation she has visited on this tour across the African continent.
Upon her arrival at Moshoeshoe I International Airport, in the capital Maseru, she was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Lesego Makgochi, in a ceremony enlivened by a group of traditional dancers.
The Cuban leader’s agenda in Lesotho, according to Cubaminrex, includes meetings with political and government authorities, including King Letsie III; Prime Minister Thomas Thabane; Foreign Minister Lesego Makgochi; Minister of Health Nkaku Kabi; and the president of the National Assembly, Sephiri Motayane.
She will also meet with Lesothan students who studied in Cuba and members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in the country.
Vice President Inés María Chapman traveled to Lesotho from South Africa, where she met with high-ranking authorities of that country and participated on behalf of Cuba at the Special Summit of the Southern African Development Community, which was held March 26-27 in Pretoria.
