
Cuban Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, held a meeting with his Kenyan counterpart, Sicily Kariuki, in which they evaluated the joint efforts to secure the return to Cuba of the two doctors kidnapped on April 12 in the African country.
“I held a meeting with the Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Health. We evaluated the progress of bilateral cooperation. The Secretary ratified that the actions of the government of her country continue to secure the return to Cuba of our two kidnapped doctors,” Portal tweeted.
The meeting took place in the context of the exchanges held by the Cuban Minister with his counterparts, parallel to the 72nd World Health Assembly, sessioning in Geneva through May 31.
The rest of the Cuban medical personnel working in Kenya are safe.
