
Mexico already has the services of 552 Cuban doctors in 12 Mexican states, informed the director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, while giving details of the health programs at the morning press conference headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the National Palace.
Robledo detailed that "68 specialists have already moved to the units where they will provide their services".
According to La Jornada newspaper , the official explained that they were specialists in Geriatrics, Dermatology, Allergology, Rehabilitation and Internal Medicine, among others, who will contribute to the medical attention of the population. Robledo gave an account of the group's work in hospitals in several states such as Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Zacatecas and Morelos.
According to Prensa Latina, the Cuban doctors are an important part of a health plan which aims to place Mexico among the most advanced countries in this area, with completely free services, including medicines.
