The Cuban government described as important the progress made in the peace talks between the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army (ELN), which allowed the adoption of the so-called Mexico Agreement, which sets a new agenda for the continuation of these dialogues, it was reported yesterday.
The First Secretary of the Party's Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, greeted, via Twitter, the conclusion of the Agreement, "we hope that during the next cycle, which we are honored to receive in Havana, the advances for peace in Colombia will continue," he wrote.
The member of the Political Bureau of the Party and Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, also highlighted the importance of the announcement, since its signing by the parties defines "preliminary aspects to address the ceasefire and participation in the next cycle in Cuba," a process that is viewed with hope in the largest of the Antilles.
