A joint declaration, to always ensure that bilateral relations are on the right track, was initialed yesterday by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, who is on a state visit to Russia.
According to RT, the document stipulates that Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction are entering "a new era", reaching the "highest level in their history", with continuous development thanks to the constant efforts of both sides.
In the text, they stressed that their relations have neither the character of a bloc nor confrontational, are not directed against third countries and are not subject to external influences.
Moscow and Beijing propose to "provide strong mutual support for each other's fundamental interests, especially sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and development."
They further envisage continuously deepening and expanding practical cooperation in the process of modernization for joint development and prosperity, and mutual understanding and rapprochement between the peoples of the two countries, strengthening unceasingly the social and civic basis of intergenerational friendship.
The parties, according to the statement, call for promoting a multipolar world order, economic globalization, democratization of international relations, and the push for the development of "global governance, in a more equitable and rational manner.
In addition, within the framework of the talks, Putin declared that Moscow supports the use of the yuan, the Chinese national currency, in trade with the countries of Asia, Latin America and Africa.
