OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

In his speech, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, highlighted his country’s commitment to peace and international stability, without western elite’s hostility.

"For Russia there are no hostile nations in the West or in the East, and Moscow wants to see a peaceful, free and stable future," he stated.

He noted that the catastrophe of the Ukrainian people is the result of "the manipulation of Western masters", who "stir up conflicts, sow hatred, Russophobia, aggressive nationalism and destroy the family".

According to Russia Today, he claimed that "today civilization is once again at a crucial turning point", and denounced that "a real war has been waged" against the Russian people.

Putin assured that the Russian military operation in Ukraine is aimed at protecting the residents of Donbass and ensuring the security of the country, but added that "a real war has been unleashed once again against our homeland," referring to the NATO siege.

The Russian leader regretted the disrespectful actions towards the memory of the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) and the intention to erase the heroism of the Russian people with the desecration of Soviet monuments in different places of the world, and in contrast honored the courage of the soldiers who stood against the expansion of fascism in other countries.

"We pay tribute to the members of the resistance who fought bravely against Nazism, to the soldiers of the allied armies of the United States, Great Britain and other states.

We remember and honor the feat of Chinese soldiers in the battle against Japanese militarism," he mentioned.

More than 8,000 military personnel, including 530 fighters of the military operation in Ukraine, as well as the mechanized column headed by the legendary T-34-8 Victory Tank, took part in the parade, according to Prensa Latina.

At the Victory Day parade, the leaders of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, then members of the Soviet Union, which were victorious in the Great Patriotic War, were on the rostrum next to the Russian president.
