Cuba can serve as a bridge between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Latin America, said the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez during a videoconference at the meeting of the Supreme Economic Council of Eurasia.
Díaz-Canel stressed that Cuba has important and diverse links with Latin American and Caribbean nations, and with the states of the EEU, which would allow for forging solid and profitable ties between the countries of both regions.
There are currently possibilities for increasing exchanges between our nations in areas such as food and energy security, investment in industrial and technological development, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and the training of human resources, he added.
According to Prensa Latina, he confirmed that the Cuban delegation, headed by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, will attend the Council of Heads of Government of the EEU, to be held in June in Sochi, Russia.
