The economic, commercial and financial blockade is the central element that has been at the heart of the U.S. policy toward Cuba for more than six decades. The effects of this undeclared war against the economy, society, daily life and dreams of progress of more than 11 million Cubans have not ceased for a single day.

Classified as genocide and the most flagrant violation of the human rights of the Cuban people, and also of those who are affected by its extraterritorial nature, the blockade causes extreme direct damage.

The comprehensive nature of its measures has the cruel and practical purpose of affecting the country’s financial income that is indispensable to acquire food for the population; supplies, parts and pieces, technologies and software.

Its impact causes scarcity, shortages, long lines and anxiety, which today mark Cubans; the blockade fuels up emigration, which today is a direct consequence of its impact.

The blockade is destined to kill, because its purpose is to create desperation and ungovernability. In short, to put an end to the Cuban Revolution.

On November 1 and 2, the UN General Assembly discussed and voted on Resolution 77/7, Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba, which has received the support of 31 sessions of that highest entity of multilateralism.

Despite the hostility and the genocidal crime that the unilateral and illegal U.S. policy against Cuba, rejected by almost the entire world, the unredeemed people of the island do not renounce their development. It resists and creates, because it is the only way to continue defeating the hegemonic power, which does not cease in its vile attempt to crush its example, since it is the only one it has not been able to break.
