The friendly ties between Cuba and Angola were the focus of the dialogue between the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, and the president of the African nation, João Lourenço.

In a fraternal atmosphere, cooperation was discussed and it was agreed to commemorate in 2025, with activities from January to December, the 50th anniversary of Angola's independence and bilateral relations, Prensa Latina reported.

Lazo Hernandez also exchanged with the vice-president of the Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) party, Luísa Damião, and talked with a group of Cuban collaborators in that country, with whom he addressed questions about their work and about the economic complexities on the island.

He also toured the Cardenal Alexandre do Nascimento hospital specializing in cardiopulmonary ailments, where Cuban and Angolan specialists graduated in the archipelago share their work.

The also head of the Council of State participated in the opening of the fourth extraordinary plenary meeting of the second legislative session of the current term of the Angolan Parliament.

PL described that the head of the Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, expressed satisfaction for the visit, in order to strengthen the links between both legislative bodies.

The visitor signified the Cuban side's commitment to strengthen the current relations, as well as to promote the exchange of experiences, quoted PL.
