Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines -The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived yesterday afternoon in this Eastern Caribbean island to participate today in the VIII Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean (Celac). He was received by Montgomery Daniel, Deputy Prime Minister.
The host country will present a report on its management of the pro tempore presidency of Celac, and the tenth anniversary of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, adopted at the II Summit, in 2014, in Havana, will be celebrated.

Delegations from the 33 countries of the region are expected to adopt a Final Declaration, after which St. Vincent and the Grenadines will symbolically hand over the pro tempore presidency to Honduras.
The Cuban delegation includes the member of the Political Bureau and head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; the Cuban ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, José Manuel Leyva Ventura; and Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, among other officials.
