ARAGUA, Venezuela -It is no secret to the world that the largest of the Antilles is unjustly included in a list of countries sponsoring terrorism. Even so, besieged, it maintains its irrefutable commitment to help humanity, and has sister nations that accompany it in its anti-imperialist struggle.
Since the historic embrace between Fidel and Chávez in 1994, the Island and Venezuela have forged a friendship that transcends until today. There were more than enough reasons to hold, in the Venezuelan state of Aragua, last weekend, the XIII National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, with the participation of delegations from nine countries, as well as representatives of the Movement of Solidarity and Mutual Aid in this nation.
After sessions of debate in commissions and conferences on history, communication and youth, the delegates made a final declaration in which they agreed to "immediately demand the exclusion of Cuba from the illegitimate list of State Sponsors of Terrorism".
Likewise, they pronounced themselves in favor of carrying out actions in the five continents so that the US government puts an end to the blockade "which damages the development and welfare" of our country.
A proposal was made to install the three-times Revolution Chair in all Venezuelan academic institutions, in which The Golden Age will also be studied and the creation of a park named after this literary work will be promoted in the city of Maracay.
Among other actions, it was proposed to organize and promote the third Bolívar-Martí solidarity flight, "in order to continue strengthening the people-to-people bridges", besides contributing to the diffusion of the 8th International Peace Seminar, and to advocate for the abolition of foreign military bases.
