The Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Cevdet Yilmaz, received yesterday the Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, who began a working visit to that nation on Tuesday, with the aim of deepening the historic relations existing between both nations and peoples.
During the friendly meeting, Yilmaz and Cabrisas reviewed the positive state of political relations and agreed on the importance of promoting and deepening economic, commercial, financial and cooperation ties between Havana and Ankara, particularly in areas such as renewable energies, agriculture, livestock, construction, industry, health and tourism.
The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister conveyed an affectionate greeting from President Díaz-Canel to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and expressed his gratitude for the traditional position of Türkiye in favor of the resolution adopted every year by the United Nations General Assembly against the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The Cuban ambassador in that contry, Dr. Alejandro F. Díaz Palacios, and Oscar Ramos Redondo, first secretary of the Embassy in Ankara, accompanied Cabrisas. Ambassador Yaprak Alp, general director for the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, participated for the host country.
Cabrisas fulfills a work agenda that includes examining the potential economic exchange, for its development, and giving continuity to the political dialogue at the highest level.
He also spoke with Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade, with whom he signed an agreement establishing a bilateral Economic Agenda for the period 2024-2026, and with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Both Turkish personalities ratified the political will of their government to work for the deepening of economic relations, as well as expressed their disagreement with the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
