
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received on Tuesday the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Igor Krasnov, who conveyed to his host "a greeting with best wishes" from President Vladimir Putin.
Díaz-Canel expressed his pleasure to receive Krasnov at the Palace of the Revolution, on his first visit to Cuba, and asked to convey to President Putin warm greetings, while stressing the international leadership that his Russian counterpart maintains.
The Head of State of the largest of the Antilles described as very important that, with this visit, the collaboration between the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Cuba is expanding.
Accompanied by the Prosecutor General, Yamila Peña Ojeda, Díaz-Canel emphasized the value of this cooperation in terms of preparation of Cuban prosecutors, and for the joint approach to very complex issues such as corruption, international crime, cybersecurity, the challenges of Artificial Intelligence, terrorism and other issues that representatives of both prosecutors' offices have been discussing during the visit.
The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation was accompanied by his country's ambassador to Cuba, Victor Koronelli, and the minister counselor of the diplomatic headquarters, Anna Petot.
Krasnov stressed that, with this visit, exchanges on issues such as citizens' rights and the fight against crime are being expanded, while he recalled that last year, during the stay of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Cuba in Russia, ways for mutual work were defined.
