"Cuba and Laos are united by the common aspiration to build socialism with their own particularities, as the only way to preserve national sovereignty and achieve a more just society that considers the human being as the center of its development". This was stated by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales Ojeda, at the opening yesterday of the Second Theoretical Seminar Lessons and Practices for the management of the Party in the new conditions.
Before the Laos delegation -chaired by Bounthong Chitmany, member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the People's Revolutionary Party-, Morales Ojeda detailed, according to the Party's website, the complex and adverse scenario faced by the largest of the Antilles, as well as the actions to overcome these obstacles.
This theoretical event "will allow us to enrich the fruitful exchange of the previous meeting, to share experiences of the Party's work for the strengthening of its leadership and the promotion of its economic development", he said.
Chitmany stressed that "this seminar coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Laos, so the geographical distance has not been an impediment to the consolidation of a relationship based on cooperation, solidarity and the fraternal and valuable support of Cuba in the struggles for the Laotian national liberation and development of our nation".
The Role of the economic sector in the development of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Human development to meet the needs of socialist development in the Asian nation were addressed by Kikeo Chanthabouri and Khammone Chanthachith, vice chief and vice rector of the National Institute of Economic and Social Sciences, respectively.
The political-ideological work of the PCC  to preserve unity as guarantor of the socialist project was presented by Marydé Fernández López, member of the Central Committee and vice-chief of its Ideological Department; and Roberto Pérez Jiménez, also member of the Central Committee and head of its Organization Department, dealt with the political and communicational assurance of the implementation of the Government Projections to correct distortions and re-boost the economy during the year 2024.
