OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Cuba ratified its commitment with the fight against crime, not only in the national territory, but also beyond its borders. This was made known by the First Deputy Minister of Justice, Rosabel Gamón Verde, in the general debate of the 33rd Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, in Vienna, Austria.
Special mention was made of the rejection and condemnation - on behalf of this nation, which has been the victim for more than half a century of countless acts of this nature - of "all terrorist acts, methods and practices, in all their forms and manifestations by whomever, against whomever and wherever they are committed, whatever their motivations, including those cases in which States are directly or indirectly involved".
She also emphasized the development of the country's legal system, explaining tools and work results that demonstrate how crime prevention is a strategic priority for the leadership of the government and social organizations.
In addition, she reiterated the Island's commitment to an effective battle against human trafficking and the 56 international cooperation agreements in force: 25 on legal assistance in criminal matters, 20 on the transfer of convicted persons and 11 on extradition.
