The truth about Cuba always finds a way to come out, even in such adverse contexts as the Organization of American States (OAS), an organization known for the ways in which it moves at the pace of the United States, and to which the island would never aspire to return, since it left in 1962.
However, during the recently concluded month of June, as part of the 54th General Assembly of the organization, representatives of four countries denounced Washington's arbitrariness against Havana, especially the unjust permanence on the list of State sponsors of terrorism, and the reinforcement of the economic, commercial and financial blockade.
The attitude assumed by the representatives of Brazil, Mexico, Honduras and Bolivia, in the session held in Paraguay, was thanked by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who shared video fragments of the interventions on the social network X.
Joel Antonio Hernández, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of Mexico, called for an end to the blockade and condemned, on behalf of his country, "the unilateral actions imposed, in violation of international law and the resolutions of the United Nations (UN), which are preventing the development of our peoples".
Similarly, the Secretary General of Foreign Relations of Brazil, Maria Laura da Rocha, considered it known that the island "actively collaborates for the promotion of peace, dialogue and regional integration".
The representative of Bolivia to the OAS, Héctor Arce, condemned the pressures of some States that seek to bring about changes based on the deprivation of their peoples.
Meanwhile, the representative of Honduras, Roberto Ramos Bustos, added that U.S. actions are a transgression of international principles and norms, and reiterated his opposition to measures that are maintained against brotherly peoples, hindering the progress of relations between them.
