Caracas, Venezuela.- This Sunday, the Venezuelan people mobilized in the Second National Popular Consultation of the year, as a demonstration of the direct, participatory and protagonist democracy defended by the Bolivarian Revolution.
Some 4,505 municipal circuits were activated so that citizens over the age of 15 could vote on the projects they wanted to prioritize in areas such as education, electricity, health and sports.
Once each community has selected, by majority vote, one of the seven proposals previously presented in the community meetings, the government will be responsible for financing it to benefit families in essential sectors of the country's life.
This stage has been reached thanks to the popular and strategic awareness of the State and the people, emphasized Jorge Arreaza, Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP.
"One of the five powers of the country, the Citizen Power, is organized to dispose of the capital generated by taxes, oil and other resources. In Venezuela, the people are in charge," said the PSUV Vice President for Municipalities and Social Movements.
On the other hand, over the weekend, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, issued the summons for former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia to appear before the Public Prosecutor's Office today, Monday.
As required by law, he must appear to answer for the alleged commission of crimes of usurpation of functions, forgery of public documents, incitement to disobey laws, computer crimes, association to commit crimes and conspiracy, as part of the ongoing investigation against him.
