The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, criticized the ambiguous position of the international media that, once again, forget to mention the damage caused by the "Havana syndrome" to the people of the Island.
"The false Havana syndrome can no longer support studies. But the media forgets to mention that it was a vile pretext to include Cuba in the list of sponsors of terrorism and to reinforce the genocidal blockade with more than 240 measures," the Head of State expressed from his account in the social network X.
The Cuban leader is referring to a news item recently published by CNN on the cancellation by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of an investigation on the "Havana syndrome", due to unethical coercion of the participants.
The media construction on the occurrence of an alleged damage to the health of diplomatic personnel accredited in the Antillean capital was used by Washington to add another "further pressure" to the policy of coercive measures applied against Cuba.
The story, worthy of a Marvel comic book, has been repeatedly dismissed by the investigations of prestigious international and Cuban scientists.
Now there is a twist in the story that comes a little closer to the truth; several media, including CNN, reveal that the CIA invented the alleged victims of the "sonic attacks," and that coercion was used against people so that they would take part in the investigation.
