OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Mexico began yesterday the national vaccination campaign against the SARS-COV-2 virus that causes COVID-19, in which the vaccines Abdala, from Cuba, and the Russian Sputnik will be administered, according to information from Prensa Latina.
Mexico's Secretary of Health, David Kershenobich, at an event held at the National Institute of Geriatrics, explained that the vaccines, which will be applied during the 2024-2025 winter season in the public sector, are safe, effective and of high quality, and it is expected that the Mexican vaccine Patria will also be administered in December.
He added that, although the strains of the coronavirus have been changing, the scientific community and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend the use of biologics, including those of the first generation developed during the pandemic, which began in 2020.
Kershenobich emphasized that this institute was chosen to highlight the importance of older adults receiving vaccines, as they are one of the main priority groups due to their high risk of serious complications, hospitalization and even death.
