"I am very pleased and feel satisfaction for being able to welcome you and receive you here in the Palace of the Revolution," said on Wednesday morning the member of the Political Bureau and Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdes Mesa, to the Director General of the Federal Marshals Service of Russia, Colonel General Dimitry Aristov.
To the visiting friend -who heads a high-level delegation that from Tuesday is carrying out a work agenda on the island-, the Cuban Vice President commented: "This is the second time we have met, although you have already been to our country three times."
During the exchange, the Political Bureau member told Colonel General Dimitry Aristov that such courtesy visit "gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude to the Federal Marshals Service of Russia for all the cooperation they are giving us, in terms of communication to achieve effective management in the fulfillment of judicial and administrative orders and resolutions."
Our government," said Salvador Valdés Mesa, "pays great attention to this activity." And he stressed that it has constitutional backing and is mandatory for the institutions, their officials, and the people in general.
In May 2023, when the first meeting took place in Havana, the Vice President of the Republic of Cuba told the Director General of the Federal Marshals Service of Russia: "Undoubtedly, your visit will be very useful for the constant improvement of our judicial system, taking into account the experiences of the institution you preside over; and it will also be useful for other activities in the country."
This was also the moment when Dmitry Aristov affirmed that "each of the organs of power of our country makes its contribution to the development of relations between the two countries and states".
In the light of the elapsed time, this Wednesday morning Valdés Mesa valued before the friend that the visit of May 2023 "has allowed us to expand the relations and the flow of meetings.".
The Cuban Vice President thanked the Director General of the Federal Marshals Service of Russia for having been present in this second day of exchanges, which in these hours of work will make possible the preparation of judges, specialized personnel and experts in the largest of the Antilles.
It is something, he said, that "will allow us to perfect our legal instruments for the fulfillment of judicial decisions, of the judicial resolutions that must be complied with by the institutions, the organisms, and the administrative decisions that are adopted." On behalf of the Government, the host emphasized his gratitude "for all this collaboration and support."
On his part, the Director General of the Federal Marshals Service of Russia -to whom Salvador Valdés said at one point during the dialogue "feel at home"-, expressed: "I am really very happy to be here, to have this meeting with you." And he thanked for the opportunity "to be once again in Cuba".
The visitor spoke of personal relations of friendship, which transcend strictly work-related matters, and at another moment he affirmed: "It is very important to see the priority given by the Cuban Government, the Cuban State, to this type of activity; and we are willing and open to offer any type of help and cooperation for the improvement that you have proposed".
As in 2023, the dialogue that took place this Wednesday at the Palace of the Revolution was also attended, on the Cuban side, by the President of the People's Supreme Court, Ruben Remigio Ferro.
